Door Installation & Repair
A front door is the first thing a buyer physically touches, and one that sticks or will not latch colours everything they see afterward. Most older Portland homes have settled enough that the doors need adjusting rather than replacing.
What is included
- Entry and exterior door replacement
- Patio and sliding door repair and replacement
- Interior, closet and bifold doors
- Hinge, strike and latch adjustment on doors that stick
- Weatherstripping and thresholds that come up on inspection
Door Installation & Repair: questions we get
Is a new front door worth it before listing?
It is one of the better returns per dollar in the listing photos, but only when the existing one is genuinely tired. If it just needs paint, hardware and an adjustment, we will tell you that instead of selling you a door.
Can you fix a door that will not latch without replacing it?
Almost always. Settling moves the strike plate out of alignment, which is an adjustment rather than a replacement. It is one of the cheapest items to clear off a repair addendum.
